YouTube Embed Code

  • Here's how you embed a video from YouTube into the Embed Code App.

    1. Upload your video to YouTube.com . 
    2. Once your video is uploaded, navigate to your video. 
    3. Click Share
    4. Navigate to the Embed tab. 
    5. Copy the embed code provided. 
    6. If you wish to change the settings or size of your video, click Show More
    7. In Site Manager, navigate to the page you wish to edit. 
    8. Click Actions to the right of the page and select Edit Page from the drop-down list. The page opens in Edit mode. 
    9. Add an Embed Code App to your page.
    10. Click on the Embed Code App that you wish to edit. The edit dialog displays. 
    11. Position the cursor within the Embed box and paste the embed code into it. 
    12. By default, the Activate on my page check box is activated. Uncheck the box if you do not want the app to display on the page. 
    13. Click Save

Headlines & Features Attachment Add-On

  • Here’s how you add a video attachment in a record of the Headlines &  Features App.

    1. In Site Manager, navigate to the app you wish to edit
    2. Create and save your record if necessary. 
    3. Edit the record and navigate to the Attachments tab. 
    4. Click Add Video. The Attach Video window displays. 
    5. Choose to link to a video from the web or upload a MP4 video from your computer. 
    6. To attach a video From the Web, paste the link to the video into the Web Address field. 
    7. To upload a MP4 video from your computer, select On my Computer, click Browse and select the file you wish to upload. 
    8. Click Continue.  
    9. Edit the video Title and Description if desired. If you uploaded a video from your computer, use the seek bar to select the thumbnail for your video. 
    10. Click Attach. You are returned to the Attachments tab. 
    11. Click Save.

Premium Video App (PVA)

  • The Premium Video App is an app that is available for a separate fee. If your district is interested in purchasing this app, a designated support contact from your district will need to contact Schoolwires Support or your district’s Sales Representative for more information. There is no file size limit for videos being uploaded to Premium Video App library.

    Here’s how you add a Premium Video app to a page.

    1. In Site Manager, navigate to the workspace containing the page to which you wish to add a Premium Video app.
    2. Click Actions to the right of the page and select Edit Page from the drop-down list. The page opens in Edit mode.
    3. Under Actions, click Manage Apps & Layout. The page opens in Design mode.
    4. Click Add App. The Select an App dialog displays.
    5. Select Premium Video App in the first column. A list of existing Premium Video apps along with a Create New button display in the second column.
    6. To add an existing app to the page, select an app in the list. You are returned to the page in Design mode.
    7. To add a new app to the page, click Create New. In the third column, enter a name for the app.
    8. Click Create. You are returned to the page in Design mode.
    9. Click I’m Done to return to the page in Edit Mode.
  • Here’s how you add a video to a Multimedia Rotator.

    1. In Site Manager, navigate to the Site or Subsite Workspace that contains the Multimedia Rotator you wish to edit.
    2. Click Homepage. The Homepage displays in Edit Mode.
    3. Click on the Multimedia Rotator App. The app will open in Edit Mode.
    4. Click New Record. The Add Record Window displays.
    5. Enter a Title for your record. Select Hide, if you do not wish to display the title.
    6. If desired, you can add a caption for your record.If you choose to not include a caption, be sure to select Hide.

Content App

  • Here’s how you insert a file link into a Content App.

    1. In Site Manager, navigate to the Content App you wish to add the link to.
    2. Click the Insert File icon. The Insert File Link dialog displays.
    3. You can choose to upload a new file, insert an existing file or upload a file from a Shared Folder. To upload a new file, click Upload.
    4. Browse out and choose the file you wish to upload.
    5. Click Open, then click Continue. The Link Attributes window will display.
    6. Enter the text you wish to display for the link in the Text to Display field.
    7. Choose a Target for your link. This will determine if your link opens in the same window or a new window.
    8. Click Insert File. You are returned to your Content App in Edit Mode.
    9. Click Save.
