Searching for Images using Bing and Google

  • The links provided to search Bing or Google for images will provide you with information on how to filter the images by license type so you can be sure you are using images that are either in the public domain or licensed under Creative Commons.  Each Creative Commons license type has different terms of use.  Only images in the public domain do NOT require attribution.

You are responsible for educating yourself about Copyright Laws, Creative Commons licensing and following the appropriate rules for attribution. Information about those topics can be found here http://lakepark.wnyric.org/Page/3242.  Please familiarize yourself with the information before you "borrow" pictures from websites so you do not violate copyright laws.

Important Note: Images labeled as Free to Use indicate that there is not a cost associated with using the image.  It does NOT indicate that there are is not a copyright license associated with the image.  You are responsible for clicking on images you find in a search until you find the source website for that image.  Then you need to review the terms of use or copyright license information to determine the attribution required.
